New Mexico Historic Sites offer interesting and enjoyable special events
at both the Coronado and Jemez sites.
These programs are for the enjoyments of both adults and children alike.

AT CORONADO HISTORIC SITE

ARTIST DEMONSTRATIONS
Admission: $7 entrance fee
Free for NMNF members, FCJHS, children 16 and under, people with Tribal affiliation.
Last Saturdays of each month - 10:30 A.M. - 4 P.M.
New Mexico is home to 19 federally recognized pueblo tribes and Arizona is home to 12 Hopi villages. The artist demonstration program will highlight six artists from these groups. Visitors can meet indigenous artists as they practice their style of traditional and contemporary arts.

WORK IN THE DEMONSTRATION GARDEN
LAST WEDNESDAYS of EACH MONTH - 10:30 A.M. - 12 P.M.
$7 entrance fee for adults; free to children 16 and younger, NM residents 60+ with ID, Native/Tribal affiliations, disabled veterans, foster families, and Friends members.
Join Ranger Anthony for demonstrations of different gardening techniques at Coronado Historic Sites. Participants will work in the garden, so bring water and a hat.
AT JEMEZ HISTORIC SITE
Looking to the Skies: Ancient and Modern Astronomers

See the sun through a new lens at Jemez Historic Site’s daytime astronomy program.
Find out about the world above, in the eyes of Southwestern Indigenous People, at Jemez Historic Site
What: Learn about past and modern perspectives of astronomy from an Indigenous point of view with Instructional Coordinator Marlon at Jemez Historic Site. The presentation will discuss what Southwestern Indigenous people observed and believed about the world above them and how the worlds above and around them are connected and related. We’ll use special sun viewing telescopes to take a closer look at the sun. This program is included with admission of $7 for adults and free to children 16 years and younger, Tribal members, NM disabled veterans, NM foster families, MNMF members, and FCJHS members.
Daytime program, Looking to the Skies, is included with standard site admission fee.
Star Gazing at Gisewa
Sept 19th & Oct 17th


This evening event is an opportunity to view the night sky with telescopes provided by The Albuquerque Astronomical Society and the Friends of Coronado and Jemez Historic Sites.
Food and art: Pueblo food and art vendors will be present. Location: Jemez Historic Site, Jemez Springs, New Mexico.
Admission: The evening program, Stargazing at Gisewa, is a special event. Tickets are $10 for adults, free admission for children 16 & under, tribal members and other select groups. You can purchase tickets online in advance. Details and a link for buying tickets will appear here in August.
