FRIENDS BOARD
We are a 501(c)(3) so we rely on the contributions of all members for our success. We
have twelve Board members who serve for either two or three year terms and become
long-term friends as well as Friends.
There are many volunteer opportunities for Friends members to contribute your time, talent and treasure to ultimately help support, conserve and restore the historical assets of Coronado and Jemez Historic Sites for future generations.

One way is through service on our Board. When you join the Board, you join others who share the same interests you have – to make decisions and promote actions that benefit the Friends’ mission and increase support for the Sites. We are very fortunate that we continue to find people in our community interested in the continued success of our two sites, with some also having special skills they can contribute to managing and directing the activities of the Friends.

Board meetings are held monthly every Tuesday at the Coronado Historic Site, or sometimes virtually, for those who cannot attend in person. The Board holds an annual meeting in March which includes a business meeting followed by election of officers and then finishes with an hour to just have fun and catch up.

A Message from the Board President
Greetings Friends,
There are numerous benefits to being a Friend, and finding new friends among other like-minded people is at the top of that list.
Both sites benefit from our funding exclusive programming like summer Star Parties, baking demos in the hornos,
summer camps, and the beautiful winter “Lights of Gisewa and Kuaua." The rangers train our volunteers to become knowledgeable docents who give tours to visitors at the Coronado Site, and volunteers run both excellent gift shops featuring New Mexican native art and jewelry.
Making new friends among the Friends is easy, just let us know what you enjoy doing and we will match our programs with your unique talents.
