Become A Friends Member
As a Friends Member, what you receive far outweighs what you give. Just ask our 400+ Members and
find out how you can begin enjoying the benefits of being a Friend for as little as $20 a year!

Becoming a Friend offers many benefits, while helping to protect, preserve and promote Coronado & Jemez Historic Sites
Become A Friend
The Friends have been helping to preserve and promote the Coronado Historic Site for over 20 years, and the Jemez Historic Site for the past five years. We provided 2,928 volunteer hours in 2025 valued at $78,725, to help raise funds and support the Sites.

We each bring our unique life experiences, and professional skills to share and preserve the historic sites for future generations. We share a common understanding that our Historic Sites are a key part of New Mexico's history and worth protecting.

The Friends offer opportunities that make a difference. Maybe become a Docent (teacher or lecturer) to explain our history, operate our Coronado or Jemez Gift Shops meeting visitors from all around the globe, impact change through our legislative partners, plan events, help with archaeological digs to preserve, clean, and restore our Sites, or to serve on our Board of Directors as a decision maker. Feel free to reach out to any of our 400+ members to hear about what it's like being part of this impactful group.

There are many ongoing volunteer opportunities that will make a huge impact for our Sites. Visit our upcoming events page to see how you can volunteer at the Coronado and Jemez Historic Sites.

FREE ADMISSION
All members receive free admission to both Coronado and Jemez Historic Sites during regular open hours. For those volunteering during special events such as Fiesta of Cultures, Star Parties or Lights of Gisewa, admission is waived.
NEWS & UPDATES
Through monthly newsletters and special updates, Friends members will hear about upcoming news and events before anyone else, especially for events that tend to sell out early, such as star parties, guest speakers and Lights of Gisewa.
MEMBERS ONLY
EVENTS
Friends often get together for members-only outings such as behind the scenes visits to cultural museums, hikes to places like Chaco Canyon, hands on workshops and special access to the Historic Sites for private events.
DIG, GUIDE, LEAD
Members are tapped to help with activities like community archaeological digs and planning cultural and arts events at the Sites. Plus, those interested in leading educational workshops and talks have an opportunity to become docents, lead tours, and put their skills to use doing everything from grant writing to school outreach to gardening.
